Welcome to the official website of Mater Amabilis Secondary School! We are an all-girls Catholic boarding school located in Umuoji, a suburb of Onitsha in Anambra State, Nigeria. In Mater Amabilis, we make it our business to assist every girl child entrusted to our care reach her full potentials. Since 1962 when our historic and prestigious school was founded, we have continued to transform lives through an all-round education that prepares young people for the future. Our numerous alumnae scattered in different parts of the world and doing eminently well in their respective professions, bear witness to the lofty standard of education we have achieved over the years. With a current population of about 1000 students drawn from different parts of the country and beyond, Mater possesses a unique diversity that enriches the overall learning experience of the student.

60th Anniversary Celebration
On this day, we shall be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the foundation of our historic school. It will begin with a Pontifical Holy Mass by the Archbishop of Onitsha at 10.00am
